Who can apply for the MountCrest Pre-Bar Course?
Eligible LLB graduates, including MountCrest graduates, graduates from other GTEC-accredited institutions, eligible backlog LLB graduates, and applicants with LLB qualifications from other common law jurisdictions, may apply subject to admission requirements and qualification assessment.
Is the Pre-Bar Course only for MountCrest graduates?
No. MountCrest welcomes applications from graduates of other GTEC-accredited institutions and eligible applicants from other common law jurisdictions.
What if my LLB is from another common law jurisdiction?
Applicants with an LLB or equivalent qualification from another common law jurisdiction may be considered subject to academic assessment and completion of a top-up for the required admission requirements.
What will the top-up for common law jurisdiction applicants cover?
The top-up programme will cover all required courses as approved by the General Legal Council including Ghana Legal System and its’ History, Constitutional Law.
How long will the Pre-Bar Course run?
The MountCrest Pre-Bar Course will run for one academic year and will be delivered over two semesters.
What sessions will be available?
Students may choose from Regular, Evening, or Weekend sessions, depending on availability, enrolment numbers, and timetable arrangements.
What courses will be offered?
The programme includes core courses such as Company Law and Practice, Commercial Law, Family Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Interpretation of Deeds and Statutes, together with a range of elective courses.

What is the credit hour value for each course?

The fee for the academic year is GHS 14,943.00, based on the harmonised benchmark proposed for the Pre-Bar Course.
Is there a separate fee for the top-up programme?
Any fee applicable to the top-up programme will be communicated after assessment of the applicant’s academic record and admission status.
Will students receive an attestation after completing the programme?
Yes. Students who successfully complete the required theoretical courses will receive an attestation confirming completion of the programme requirements.
Does completing the Pre-Bar Course mean I have been called to the Bar?
No. The Pre-Bar Course is a transitional academic stage and does not by itself qualify a student for Call to the Bar.
What happens after the Pre-Bar Course?
Successful students may progress to the Law Practice Training Programme at an accredited institution before sitting the National Bar Examinations.
